Tai Chi Foundations Class (Online)

Sundays 2 - 3 pm ET (6 - 7 pm GMT)
This 3-week class will be offered again for the month of April.

In 3 sessions together, we’ll learn a Tai Chi form that uses the circular movements of the Tai Chi (or Yin-Yang) Symbol. In each class, we’ll also cover a foundation of Tai Chi movement that will allow us to move with greater ease and reduce stress.

This series focuses on 3 key principles of tai chi practice, which then can be applied in tai chi and in daily life. This class is suitable for beginners and for tai chi practitioners looking to deepen fundamental aspects of tai chi practice.

Register for the class here.

This series also supports the understanding and practice described in Master Park’s book Nowflow Breath, Movement & Mind, available as a free PDF.

After taking this Foundations Class, students can join our Online Group, where we go further into the practice, instruction, philosophy, and benefits of Tai Chi.

I write this after having completed Tai Chi Foundations with Mackenzie and Wuwei Tai Chi, and I am continuing with the program to learn more. Mackenzie is welcoming, encouraging, cheerful, and gentle guide and teacher – and who could ask for more? Regardless of your knowledge, fitness, or age, she makes it light, enjoyable, and beneficial. I hereby recommend!

Mackenzie, your Tai Chi classes have been so eye-opening! As a veteran yoga practitioner (since 1986!), I've encountered plenty of instructors, but your online classes truly "enlightened" me. I feel transformed in movement, mindset, and overall body awareness. Each session builds on the foundation, adding beautiful and practical elements. Online access to the classes also allows me to practice when I make the time. Thankful to have you as my teacher!
- Robert

I enrolled in Wuwei Tai Chi with curiosity and deep hope for better physical health. I discovered the challenging yet simple movements inspire me to breathe, relax, and relish in the present moment. I look forward to Mackenzie’s thoughtful queues and always leave class grateful for new gems of wisdom to take with me to further my mind/body connection.
I’ve also learned to relax tightness in my body, gaining freedom with movement that has become so enjoyable to experience. I look forward to continuing my practice and deepening my awareness of flow. Tai chi is now a part of my daily life and I’m thankful that this previously foreign way of movement is an available tool for me to tune into the present moment no matter where or what I am doing — It is a blessing!

Practicing Tai Chi at Wuwei Tai Chi always leaves me feeling grounded, centered, and in the moment. Mackenzie is a wonderful teacher who always brings new approaches and ways of thinking about the practice to class, so you're always expanding how you think about your practice, and making the practice itself deeper. I really appreciate the discussions at the end of class where we reflect on what we learned--it encourages deeper mindfulness during the practice, and fosters connection and community between participants.
— Victoria

Mackenzie comes to teaching earnestly. You can see she loves what she does and it’s important to her regardless age or ability or whatever. You can see that wherever that person is, Mackenzie is going to meet them there without judgment. That’s the teacher you want. So thank you.
— Roxane
